About
My name is Issy and I am a visual artist from Manila, Philippines based in New Haven, Connecticut. I am a junior in college double majoring in Graphic Design and Economics. My current work is sometimes illustrative and sometimes exact, using art as a means to connect, collaborate, communicate and reflect. I enjoy exploring what feels magical and I love to experiment with new mediums. I feel rooted in type design for the time being.
I illustrate, serve, and sometimes cook for Y Pop-Up, my university’s fine-dining culinary club. I also coordinate workshops and speaker events with designers from all over the tri-state area for Design at Yale. In my free time, I browse book stores (1, 2, 3), practice Shavasana, and watch movies at the North Haven Cinemark.
