About
Kaya Founders is an early-stage venture capital company based in Manila, Philippines. I worked here over my sophomore year summer as a Venture Capital Intern. The Kaya team is lean, quick-paced, and dynamic which meant that my summer experience was exactly that: I would show up to the office everyday ready to say yes to any task that needed an extra hand. While at Kaya, I designed materials to promote events via LinkedIn, launched their Instagram page to expand their research, and packaged a research paper on “The AI Landscape in Southeast Asia”.
In all of these design roles, I worked hand-in-hand with the project lead and checking-in often to create visuals that are accurate, efficient, and accessible. A good chunk of my work leveraged my design thinking abilities and skills with Figma and Adobe Software. In between drafting investment memos and organizing after-work mixers, coffee chats, and basketball games, I was putting together a Figma framework that would last beyond my internship period. By the end of summer, I felt deeply immersed into the exploding tech start-up culture of Southeast Asia. I am extremely optimistic and excited to see how this industry continues to grow!
